Electronic Travel Authorization

What is ETA?

Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is an entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals traveling to Canada by air.

Here are some key points about ETA:

  1. Purpose. ETA is intended to screen travelers before they arrive in Canada, enhancing security and ensuring that those who enter the country meet the necessary requirement

  2. Who needs it. Most travelers from visa-exempt countries, except for US citizens and other countries, need an ETA to fly to air transit through Canadian airport.  Some Philippine passport holders are currently eligible to enter Canada with an ETA.

  3. Application Process. The application is done online and most applications are approved within 24 hours, though some may take longer if they need to submit additional documentation. The cost to apply is only CAD 7.

  4. Validity. Once approved, the ETA is valid for up to five years or until the passenger's passport validity, whichever is shorter. It allows multiple entries to Canada for up to 6 months at a time.

You really don't need assistance for ETA application as the process is pretty straightforward. Unless of course if you have a complicated case such as history of staying in Canada longer than the allowed period. If that's the case, contact us for assistance.
